Using ltdsave.app

ltdsave.app is a save editor for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. It runs entirely in your browser.

There are two things you need to know before you start:

  1. How to get your save files off your console or emulator. The game stores its save as three files (Player.sav, Mii.sav, Map.sav) and, if you have any user-generated content, a Ugc/ folder of texture files. The editor needs all of these.
  2. How to load them in and find the thing you want to change.

Pick the source you’re playing on:

The vanilla, unmodded Switch does not expose save files to the user. There is no supported way to back them up without modifying the console. For modding a console, see this guide.

Open ltdsave.app and drag your three .sav files (and the Ugc/ folder, if you have one) onto the page.

See Loading saves for what to do if a file doesn’t load.

The editor is organized into tabs that map to what each file contains:

  • Player, money, progress, wishes, and your full inventory.
  • Mii, pick a Mii from the list to edit personality, voice, preferences, relationships, current outfit, belongings, and active troubles.
  • Map, your island layout: house placements, ground tiles.
  • UGC, replace user-generated textures (clothes, food, goods, exteriors, interiors, map objects, map floors, facepaint) with your own images.
  • ShareMii, import a Mii or a UGC item using the ShareMii format, or export one.

Hit Export All at the top of the page. The editor will download everything into a single zip. Put the contents back where you found them, replacing the originals.
